I grew up in Essex, CT and went to Northeastern University (in Boston, MA), graduating magna cum laude proud, with a BA in drama.

 

The summer before my senior year,  I went to Circle In The Square's Summer Program. I lived in New York for the majority of the summer and trained like crazy. Following college, I was accepted in the acting apprentice program at Actor’s Theatre of Louisville. It was hard and challenging and fantastic and I received some of the best training as an actor there. I also started writing here.

 

I moved to New York City and pounded the pavement. I immersed myself in workshops and labs and interning at The Atlantic Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Tuesdays@9 with the Naked Angels, to name a few. I did any play I could, some great, some not so great but all gave me experiences that are priceless. I also started taking classes with Ted Sluberski and Penny Templeton. All of this led to commercial bookings, my first Law & Order booking (a New York actor must!), my first movie booking with Kissing Jessica Stein, my first professional theatre job in an off-Broadway play at New York Theatre Workshop (thank you Bernie Telsey!) and then my Broadway debut in Warren Leight’s Tony Award winning play, SIDE MAN, directed by the incomparable, Michael Mayer 

 

I continued my Broadway stretch, understudying the two female leads in the 16 city Broadway National Tour of David Auburn’s PROOF directed by the revered Daniel Sullivan. After a year on the road, I was asked to join the Broadway Company, understudying the ever talented, magnetic Anne Heche and Kate Jennings-Grant, and finally played the role of Catherine to standing ovations.  My parents happened to be visiting me and got to attend!

 

I soon moved to Los Angeles where I've continued to work in numerous television shows and films. However, most people recognize me as Mom from Nickelodeon's VicTORIous. Fun fact, my husband Jeffrey Nicholas Brown just wrapped five seasons as Jake Hart, Henry Danger's dad on Nickelodeon's Henry Danger.

We live in Los Angeles with our son and golden retriever rescue.
